Optima Partners Appoints Shannon M. Horton to Director of Firm's Newly Opened West Coast Office

NEW YORK, Jan. 7, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Optima Partners, a leading global regulatory compliance and risk management advisory firm, today announced the appointment of Shannon M. Horton, a former senior compliance professional with KKR Credit Advisors, as Director and Head of the firm's newly opened West Coast office. The appointment of Ms. Horton, who will be based at the firm's San Francisco office, is part of Optima Partner's expansion into key strategic markets.

In her new role, Ms. Horton will be responsible for supporting and maintaining relationships with the firm's large number of West Coast clients, as well as overseeing the office's operations.

An impressive career spanning nearly 20 years, Ms. Horton is a regulatory compliance expert who has advised hedge funds, private equity, venture capital firms, and global banks on a wide range of compliance and regulatory matters.

Before joining Optima, Ms. Horton served as Deputy Chief Compliance Officer for KKR Credit Advisors, a San Francisco-based registered investment advisory firm with more than $50 billion in assets under management. In that role, she supported the compliance function across a number of KKR Credit's strategic credit initiatives including the Business Development Company and Closed-end Fund businesses.

Ms. Horton served as Chief Compliance Officer of the KKR Income Opportunities Fund and also led a business development company expansion including NYSE listing of Corporate Capital Trust and a joint venture advisor with a leading asset management firm.

Earlier, she was the Chief Compliance Officer at registered investment advisors Nelson Capital Management, wholly owned by Wells Fargo & Company, and Wells Fargo Alternative Asset Management, respectively. Ms. Horton also served as an Assistant Vice President at J.P. Morgan Partners, LLC, the private equity arm of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., and Senior Compliance Associate at Osterweis Capital Management, a registered investment advisor.
