This year's Opticon keynote speakers will be given on October 19 at the Wynn Las Vegas. Kicking off the keynote address will be Reshma Saujani, the founder and CEO of Girls Who Code, a national non-profit organization working to close the gender gap in technology. A former attorney and activist, Saujani founded Girls Who Code in 2012 after running for U.S. Congress and seeing the gender gap in computing classes firsthand. In her keynote, Saujani will address experimentation as a national movement looking specifically at how science is closing the gender gap in technology.
The second keynote will be given by guest speaker Sir Ken Robinson, one of the world's leading speakers. Sir Ken works with governments in Europe, Asia and the U.S., along with international agencies, Fortune 500 companies and leading cultural organizations on issues related to creativity, education and the economy.
