ROSEMONT, Ill., Oct. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- On October 22, the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF) will hold its second annual Day of Giving to raise funds to support research on musculoskeletal (MSK) diseases.
These diseases affect more than half the population of the U.S. aged 18 and over, nearly three-quarters of those aged 65 and older and result in 364 million workdays lost, more than for any other major health condition.1 OREF is the leading private and independent organization funding MSK research across all subspecialties to address these diseases and improve quality of life.
Launched last year to mark OREF's 70th anniversary, the OREF Day of Giving is a 24-hour effort to raise new funds to support life-changing MSK research. In addition to its goal of securing 75 new donations on the Day of Giving, OREF will dedicate the first 40 gifts to funding a new research grant created to honor OREF Grants Program Manager Carmen Metoyer's 40 years with the Foundation.
To join the OREF Day of Giving, go to https://bit.ly/OREF-Day-of-Giving to make a secure online gift. Donations made today through October 22 using the link will be counted toward the Day of Giving fundraising. Every scientific breakthrough and clinical advancement starts with funding for vital research on MSK disease.
