EDISON, N.J., March 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Oriel STAT A MATRIX announces the appointment of Lisa L. Michels, JD, MSOLQ as Global Practice Head for its Medical Devices and Life Sciences Practice.

In her new position, Ms. Michels will be responsible for strategic leadership and managerial oversight of this practice area.  She will also provide consultative oversight for the firm's delivery of regulatory compliance, quality assurance, cost optimization, and best business practices for organizations in the pharmaceutical, medical device, combination product, and biotechnology sectors.

Ms. Michels joins Oriel STAT A MATRIX from L2M Consulting, LLC, where she was President and CEO.  She has more than 14 years of experience in quality, regulatory affairs, and compliance in the medical device, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries. She has worked with FDA and other global regulatory bodies in a wide variety of capacities. In addition to her most recent position at L2M Consulting, Ms. Michels has worked with healthcare organizations such as GE Healthcare, Baxter, and Smith & Nephew to implement corporate compliance programs that satisfied the stringent requirements of the Department of Justice and the Office of Inspector General.   

Ms. Michels holds a JD from the University of Tulsa College of Law, an MS in Organizational Leadership and Quality from Marian College of Fond du Lac, and a BS in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has been recognized by the Global Directory of Who's Who as Compliance Professional of the Year (2009-2010) and Professional of the Year in Compliance and Regulatory (2011).
