WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Dec. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Origins Behavioral HealthCare, one of the nation's most trusted and innovative brands in longer-term dual diagnosis addiction treatment, announced today that it is evolving its gender-separate treatment programs in South Padre Island, TX. "After extensive research and collaboration with various partners and leading insurance carriers, Origins has decided to retool now to not only embrace significant impending marketplace and regulatory changes, but as importantly, leverage our unique body of outcome data to lead the field into a new paradigm of financial accountability for patient outcomes," said Drew Rothermel, Origins CEO and President. 

Among the enhancements include three key staff appointments. Stephanie Smith, LPC, LCDC, has been named Executive Clinical Director of Texas Programs, which include the renowned Hannah's House for Women and the flagship men's program, Origins Recovery Center. Jeanie Griffin, D.D, LPC, MFT, LCDC, long-time senior clinical advisor to Origins, has been appointed Director of Family Programs for Texas. Connie Motley, M.Ed., LPC, has been named Assistant Clinical Director for South Padre Island programs where she will continue her exemplary milieu-level leadership.

Over the past few years, Origins has been pioneering a new approach to treatment measurement and has been collecting a comprehensive spectrum of outcome data on its former patients. Now with the data collected through Austin-based MAP Health Management, Origins is uniquely positioned to leverage the robust body of proprietary information along with current research to inform enhancements to its programs and staffing structures. Focusing on longer-term residential treatment continuums for young adults in Texas, in tandem with enrichments of the programming in Florida, Origins will continue to evolve its founding legacy of harmonizing exceptional medical and evidenced-based clinical expertise within the timeless 12-Step tradition.

Smith will relocate back to Texas from West Palm Beach, FL, where she served as Clinical Director of Hanley Center at Origins. She played an integral role in the integration process following Origins' acquisition of the esteemed Hanley Center in 2014. Prior to that she managed a sober house in Kerrville, TX. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Texas and master's degree in Clinical Counseling from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, TX. She is also well-versed and trained in the use of EMDR during the course of treatment.

Griffin has more than 25 years of experience in the addiction field and will relocate to South Padre Island from Los Angeles, CA. A licensed psychotherapist and treatment program consultant, her work combines the traditional 12-Step approach with clinical and non-alternative forms of healing. Previous positions include clinical director of treatment programs, faculty member at UCLA addiction counselor training program, private practice therapist, clinical consultant, facilitator and developer of family programs and spiritual director. She has a master's degree in Substance Abuse and Mental Health Counseling and licenses in addiction counseling, marriage and family therapy.

Prior to joining the Origins Recovery Center team in 2011, Motley worked several years in private practice, operations and management and served as Executive Director of the Oklahoma Substance Abuse Services Alliance. She understands and appreciates all of the therapies used at Origins and knows how to integrate these techniques to help patients achieve a thorough and lasting recovery. She earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology and Masters of Education in Counseling Psychology at the University of Oklahoma while working full-time on a federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) grant in Alcohol, Drug, and Tobacco Prevention.
