Multimedia Campaign, Website Urge Gov. Kasich to Take Action
PITTSBURGH, Nov. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The United Steelworkers (USW) today said that Local 5724 in Clarington, Ohio will host an exclusive preview of the union's new "Save Ohio Jobs" video and website to support the union's campaign to restart Ormet's smelter in Hannibal at 11 a.m. on Tues., Nov. 12, 2013.

In the coming days and weeks, the USW will be asking elected officials, community leaders and the public to sign onto a statement calling for Ohio Gov. John Kasich to use the power of the governor's office to save over 1,000 family supporting, community sustaining jobs at the smelter.
Ormet workers and retirees are also invited to attend the event, discuss the video and review the newly launched campaign website.
The USW represents 850,000 men and women employed in metals, mining, pulp and paper, rubber, chemicals, glass, auto supply and the energy-producing industries, along with a growing number of workers in public sector and service occupations.
