Oscar Winning Makeup Artist Ve Neill to be Honored at the 2018 Annual Metropolitan Fashion Awards; Steve Carell to Present
Winners Recognizing Outstanding Achievements in Fashion & Costume Design for Motion Pictures & Television Will Be Announced at Metropolitan Fashion Week Closing Gala & Fashion Awards, October 6th at Los Angeles City Hall
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Three-time Academy Award® winner Makeup Artist, Ve Neill (A Star Is Born, Beetlejuice, Mrs. Doubtfire) will be honored with the 2018 Metropolitan Fashion "Excellence" Award at the 6th Annual Metropolitan Fashion Week's (MetroFW) Closing Gala & Fashion Awards to be held Saturday, October 6th at the forecourt and rotunda at the Los Angeles City Hall. Presenting the award to Ms. Neill will be award winning actor, comedian, producer, writer and director Steve Carell, best known for The Office, The 40 Year-Old Virgin and Foxcatcher. Steve's upcoming movies include Welcome to Marwen and Beautiful Boy.
Ve Neill has been nominated for and won more Academy Awards for make-up than any other woman. She has won three Oscars in addition to her eight nominations. She has worked with Johnny Depp over seven times including films such as Edward Scissorhands, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Her other movies include Hunger Games, Beetlejuice, Batman Returns and, most recently, A Star Is Born starring Lady Gaga. She is a judge on the hit TV show FaceOff and the Director of Education at CINEMA MAKEUP SCHOOL. Ve Neill is among the most decorated living makeup artists to date.
Celebrated Hollywood Medium Tyler Henry will be filming segments for the 4th season of his TV series at the Closing Night Gala. Tyler Henry has quickly become the most sought-after clairvoyant medium both in the United States and around the world. A special segment of Haute Couture and Avant Garde Masterpieces will also be showcased, inspired by KING TUT: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh, and designed by over 15 international fashion designers.
