OSRAM SYLVANIA Diversifies LED Portfolio with Launch of Omni-Directional and LED BR Lamps Available at Menards

DANVERS, Mass., Oct. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- With the 2012 incandescent phase-out on the horizon, OSRAM SYLVANIA continues the momentum behind the expansion of its ULTRA LED collection with the launch of its new ULTRA LED omni-directional and ULTRA LED BR lamps.  Building upon over 30 years of retail partnership, these two new LED innovations are available on Menards store shelves and on Menards.com today.  

As a leader in LED production worldwide, OSRAM SYLVANIA continues to harness LED technology for everyday residential and commercial use under its ULTRA LED umbrella. The ULTRA LED A Line omni-directional light bulbs are available for replacement in two wattages. The 8W is equivalent to the 40W incandescent and the 13.5W is equivalent to the 60W incandescent. The ULTRA LED BR 30 and BR 40 are replacements for the equivalent 65W incandescent models.

The full line of SYLVANIA ULTRA LEDs contains lighting products that are a fit for a variety of applications, from residential to commercial, as well as indoor and outdoor use.  The bulbs boast superior color quality and long life along with energy efficiency.  Similar to the larger SYLVANIA ULTRA LED family, the new omni-directional and BR lamps exceed federal efficiency standards that will phase-out the production of most inefficient incandescent bulbs, starting in 2012.

SYLVANIA ULTRA LED A-LINE OMNI-DIRECTIONAL

The SYLVANIA ULTRA LED line continues its diversification with a new addition to the popular A-line selection.  Using just six or eight watts, the SYLVANIA ULTRA LED omni-directional is a direct replacement for the commonly used 40 and 60W incandescent light bulbs, and provides equivalent lumen output and light distribution pattern.  Perfect for a variety of applications at home or in the office, this light bulb can provide between $88-126 in savings over the life of the bulb at 25,000 hours, which is 25 times longer than an incandescent model.  The omni-directional LED boasts greater color definition with a soft white light (2700K) and because they are dimmable and mercury-free, consumers can feel good about their LED choice.

SYLVANIA ULTRA LED BR LAMPS

The SYLVANIA ULTRA LED line-up also includes BR model light bulbs, standard options for spot or flood lighting.  These new BR models are replacements for the 65W incandescent model, come in 15 and 18W varieties and can provide up to $129 in savings over the life of the bulb at 25,000 hours, which is 12 times longer than an incandescent model.  Enhanced color definition with a soft white light (2700K) and the ability to dim are also trademarks of these mercury-free SYLVANIA LEDs.
