Outdoor Channel Reveals Nominees For The 14th Annual Golden Moose Awards

TEMECULA, Calif., Jan. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Outdoor Channel, America's Leader In Outdoor TV, today revealed the list of nominees, including the Top Five Fan Favorites, that have been nominated for the 14^th Annual Golden Moose Awards. The country's leading outdoor television awards ceremony takes place on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at The Venetian in Las Vegas during the National Shooting Sports Foundation's annual Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show (SHOT Show) and Conference. The Golden Moose Awards serves as the signature event to honor the hard work put forth by Outdoor Channel's talent and production teams for their entertainment contributions in 2013.

The Golden Moose Awards will be hosted by Michael Waddell of Outdoor Channel's "Realtree Road Trips" and "Bone Collector." The ceremony will include musical performances by Ted Nugent of Outdoor Channel's "Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild" and Aaron Lewis, along with country music artists Craig Morgan of the network's "Craig Morgan All Access Outdoors" and Colton James. Nugent is expected to play "The Star-Spangled Banner," the national anthem of the United States. Lewis will hit the stage for his second consecutive Golden Moose Awards with tunes from his recent projects. Morgan, who received a Humanitarian Award last year for his tireless work with Folds of Honor Foundation through a partnership with Bushnell and NRA Country, will treat audiences to a song from his new album, The Journey (Livin' Hits). And James, a newcomer propelled by "Brave Men," his powerful tribute to American troops, will delight attendees with his latest single.

Among the Golden Moose Awards presenters are Joe Mantegna of "MidwayUSA's Gun Stories"; Willie Robertson of "Buck Commander"; Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Jon Lester; former NBA player Jared Jeffries of "Modern Fishing with Jared Jeffries"; NASCAR racing crew chief Greg Zipadelli of "Greg Zipadelli's Drop Zone"; RAM Trucks' Brian Szalk; and Theresa Vail, a Sergeant in the Kansas Army National Guard, a 2013 Miss Kansas winner, a 2014 Miss America top ten finalist and an avid bowhunter.

The highly sought-after Fan Favorite awards will also be presented on the evening of the 16^th. Finalists and the ultimate winners were chosen by more than 30,000 loyal viewers of the network over the past several weeks on Outdoor Channel's voting page in the five following categories: Best Overall Series, New Series in 2013, Hunting Series, Fishing Series and Host(s).
