Overwhelming Support for Circular Economy at Resource 2014
LONDON, March 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Resource, Europe's leading event for the circular economy, surpassed all expectations with 11,455 visitors attending the conference and exhibition last week at ExCeL London.
Commenting on the visitor numbers Stephen Gee, Co founder & Event Director, said:
"We were absolutely delighted to see nearly 11,500 visitors at the event in its first year. It's a clear demonstration that businesses are taking the development of a circular economy seriously and that they are actively seeking partners to help realise the commercial benefits it has to offer. We would like to thank all those who helped to make last week such a success."
"The positive feedback we have had from all our supporters and exhibitors mean we are already extremely excited by the potential for the 2015 event."
Over the course of the three days visitors to the conference of Resource heard from over 100 forward thinking business leaders, representing some world's best
known brands including Kingfisher, P&G, Toyota, M&S and IKEA.
Speaking after his panel debate on the opportunities of a circular economy in the automotive industry Steve Hope, General Manager, Environmental Affairs and Corporate Citizenship, Toyota Motor Europe said:
"This event brought together a wide cross section of people from academics to those directly involved in providing goods and services."
"There was a realisation in the audience today that collaboration will be vital to our success. Working alone we cannot change the world, we will need to involve all the partners in the life cycle and all do our part."
