BOSTON, Nov. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- OYO Sports, the leading manufacturer of licensed sports minifigures across the major U.S. sports leagues, today announced new additions to its expanding line of products as part of its partnership with the National Hockey League (NHL). The new NHL® Gametime Hockey Rink and NHL® Backyard Hockey Rink bring the game of hockey to life by offering hands-on building and play experiences for kids to create game-action replays or new imaginative hockey moments. The OYO Sports NHL rinks will be developed for all 30 NHL teams so that fans of all ages can collect any of their favorites.

"We are thrilled to expand our NHL line with the introduction of the new rink products. Following the introduction of the NHL minifigures and Zamboni® buildables, we wanted to develop a product that would complete the experience of a true full-action game for kids, collectors and avid fans," said Shari Fabiani, ‎SVP, Product & Marketing of OYO Sports. "Kids especially idolize their favorite sports heroes and OYO provides them the opportunity to complete their aspirational play experience. With OYO's new rinks, they can play like a pro by creating their own winning moments with their favorite teams and players."

The NHL® Gametime Hockey Rink brings the hockey arena experience to life through realistic rink features and the interactive functions of the buildable set. Designed with swinging Zamboni® Ice Resurfacer doors for ice clearing, buildable goals, player benches and penalty boxes, and in-goal cameras, the rink replicates true game-action play. The NHL® Backyard Rink lets fans become their favorite NHL players in their own one-on-one backyard shoot out. Complete with buildable boards that surround the rink, a team player, goalie and hockey gear, this product brings the moments of backyard hockey to life.  Both rinks have an authentic team logo at center ice and a 2-in-1 play surface with clear ice bricks for fast action skating and recreating your favorite plays.

"At the NHL, we are committed to creating unique experiences for hockey fans of all ages," said Dave McCarthy, NHL Vice President, Consumer Products. "As a leader in fan engagement in the sports marketplace, OYO Sports has been a great partner in developing NHL products for fans to celebrate the great game of hockey and relive the biggest moments in hockey history."

The rinks are available for purchase at OYOSports.com at the suggested retail price of $159.99 for the NHL® Gametime Rink and $34.99 for the NHL® Backyard Rink. Both rinks come with an NHL referee minifigure redemption offer with purchase. The referee minifigure is only available through a rink purchase.
