Grand opening July 20 at Bellefonte/State College
BELLEFONTE, Pa., July 17, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Families interested in cyber charter education in the Central Pennsylvania region around State College and Centre County are invited to attend a public open house and grand opening of a new office of the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School at 2903 Benner Pike, Bellefonte, Pa., 16823.
The grand opening and open house on Wednesday, July 20, are scheduled for 1-3 p.m., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2 p.m. State Sen. Jake Corman (R-34) is to do the honors. Radio station FM 95.3 3WZ will be doing a live remote broadcast from 1 to 3 p.m., hosted by morning drive personality Steve Williams.
The Bellefonte office may be reached through the PA Cyber toll-free phone number, 1.888.722.9237 (1.888.PACYBER ), extension 1251. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Full-time daily staff at the Bellefonte office includes a receptionist, an administrator and an admissions counselor. Families can have their enrollment questions answered in person, and students can be enrolled at the site by appointment, according to Kathy Carney, Bellefonte office coordinator. PA Cyber requires a face-to-face enrollment interview. It does not enroll students by phone or over the Internet.
The Bellefonte office is one of five new regional PA Cyber offices being opened in East Liberty (Pittsburgh), Northside (Pittsburgh), Greensburg, Allentown and Bellefonte. PA Cyber is headquartered in Midland, Pa., west of Pittsburgh. It has larger offices, called Educational Support Centers, in Wexford (Pittsburgh area), Harrisburg and Philadelphia.
