PA Cyber enrollment underway for 2012-2013 school year
MIDLAND, Pa., May 31, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Enrollment by the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School is in full swing for the 2012-2013 school year. The state's largest and most successful online K-12 public school has scheduled 50 enrollment events in communities across Pennsylvania during the summer months.
Parents also may schedule enrollment appointments at support centers in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Harrisburg, satellite offices in Pittsburgh East Liberty, Pittsburgh Northside, Greensburg and State College, and the main office in Midland.
"If a family is considering cyber charter school for a child, now is the time for students and parents to sit down face-to-face with our admissions counselors to learn how our school works and what will be expected of them," said Dr. Nick Trombetta, CEO.
The first step in enrollment is to call PA Cyber toll-free at 1.888.PACYBER (1.888.722.9237) to speak to an admissions counselor or schedule an appointment. Preregistration is required and appointments at each site are limited.
Office locations and contact information may be found by clicking "contact us" on the www.pacyber.org home page. A list of enrollment seminars and dates, along with a list of student and personal documents which will be required, may be found by clicking the "enrollment" tab.
During June, enrollment seminars are scheduled in Pittsburgh Robinson, Wexford, Philadelphia, Washington, Greensburg, Allentown, Harrisburg, Erie, Uniontown, Monroeville, Lancaster and Pittsburgh Greentree. In July and August, enrollment teams will return to those locations and also set up in Altoona, York, King of Prussia, Wilkes Barre, Williamsport, Somerset and Grove City.
PA Cyber provides a quality public education for children of state residents at no cost to the families. Enrollment has grown every year since the school's founding in 2000, and currently stands at more than 11,000. Nearly 1,300 seniors will graduate in the PA Cyber Class of 2012.
Students are provided with a laptop computer, all-in-one printer and accessories, high-speed internet access, and all textbooks and instructional materials. Classes are taught to state standards by Pennsylvania state-certified teachers, and each student is assigned a state-certified teacher as personal Instructional Supervisor.
PA Cyber is the only state cyber charter school to have earned "Made AYP" status the past three years as a result of achieving standards set in statewide student testing. It is the only Pennsylvania cyber charter school to undergo full review of all grades, K-12, by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and to receive accreditation from Middle States, the nation's most prestigious accrediting organization.
