PA Health Professionals To Receive Advance Wound Care Training Aimed To Improve Quality Of Health Care Delivery
EXTON, Pa., April 18, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- When Pennsylvania's Health Care Connect (HCC), an initiative of the Chester County Economic Development Council (CCEDC), surveyed its members to understand what areas of clinical training was most important, the top answer was wound care education. To address this response, HCC is collaborating with Wound Care Education Institute® (WCEI®) to offer a four-day, onsite Skin and Wound Management course in Exton, Pennsylvania. The course, which begins on May 8, 2017, is funded in part by a grant from Chester County Workforce Development Board/PA Department of Labor and Industry.
HCC is composed of over 60 organizations in Southeastern Pennsylvania, including hospitals, continuing care retirement communities, home health companies, acute rehabilitation facilities, educational institutions, and county development offices. The collaboration of organizations shares the goal of improving the quality of health care delivery.

WCEI® offers the Skin and Wound Management course online or in a live classroom setting. Upon completion of the course, those who meet the eligibility requirements and successfully pass the national board certification exam by the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy® (NAWCO®) will become board certified in wound care, earning the WCC® (Wound Care Certified) credential.
