Game Offers Four Top Prizes of $1 Million, More than $5 Million in Total Prizes

MIDDLETOWN, Pa., Nov. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Ticket sales begin Friday, Nov. 16, for the Pennsylvania Lottery's 15th Millionaire Raffle, which offers 6,000 cash prizes totaling more than $5 million.

Each $20 ticket offers a 1-in-125,000 chance of winning $1 million, the best odds ever offered by the Lottery for a $1 million prize. The overall odds of winning any prize are 1-in-83.33.

"The Pennsylvania Lottery's Millionaire Raffle is one of the nation's most popular and successful lottery-sponsored raffle games," said Lottery Executive Director Todd Rucci. "Many of our players really look forward to our Millionaire Raffle games, and every raffle we've offered has sold out.

"Plus, with this drawing scheduled for early January, Millionaire Raffle tickets make a great holiday gift idea or stocking-stuffer for anyone over age 18," Rucci added.

Tickets will be available until 5 p.m. on Jan. 5, or until sold out. Only 500,000 tickets will be sold, after which the game will close. Players should sign the back of all tickets promptly and keep them in a safe place until the Jan. 5 drawing.

Each raffle ticket will feature a unique, eight-digit number issued sequentially as tickets are sold across the state. The first ticket sold on Nov. 16 will feature number 00000001, and the final raffle ticket for the game will feature number 00500000.

To be considered a winning ticket, the number on a Millionaire Raffle ticket must exactly match a winning number selected in the raffle drawing, and all digits must appear in the same sequence as the winning number.

Winning Millionaire Raffle ticket numbers will be randomly selected at 6:59 p.m. on Jan. 5 when the Lottery's live drawing show will televise the selection of four $1 million, top-prize raffle ticket numbers and four $100,000, second-prize raffle ticket numbers.

The remaining 100 winning ticket numbers for prizes of $1,000 each and 5,892 winning ticket numbers for prizes of $100 each also will be selected, but will not be televised live due to time constraints. In total, 6,000 prizes worth $5,089,200 will be awarded.
