PA Wine & Spirits Store to Celebrate 'Passport to the World' Theme at Philadelphia International Flower Show
World-Renowned Chef Lidia Bastianich to Sign Her Wines, Latest Book at Show
HARRISBURG, Pa., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A PA Wine & Spirits Store at the Philadelphia International Flower Show will offer products reflecting the international flavor of this year's event, with wines, spirits and liqueurs from the United States, Brazil, South Africa, New Zealand, the Netherlands and many other nations. Patrons can visit the store Sunday, Feb. 28, through Sunday, March 7, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Center City, Philadelphia.
Chef Lidia Bastianich, whose Bastianich wines will also be available for sale and tasting at the show, will make an appearance Friday, March 5, to sign books and wine bottles for Flower Show visitors.
"We're proud to participate for the second year in the great springtime tradition of the Philadelphia International Flower Show," said Patrick J. "P.J." Stapleton III, chairman of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. "The presence of our good friend Lidia Bastianich, whose Italian wines and cuisine are tremendously popular in Pennsylvania, is a perfect complement to this year's international theme."
The PA Wine & Spirits Store at the Flower Show will be located in the Wine & Spirits Garden in the Convention Center's Grand Hall. The garden will also be the site of daily wine tastings, free for visitors age 21 and above. All wines offered at the tastings will be available for purchase at the store.
Bastianich will sign bottles of her wine -- including Sauvignon Blanc, Friulano, Rosato, Vespa Bianco and Morellino di Scansano -- from 4 to 6 p.m. The wines are priced from $12.99 to $39.99. Bastianich will also sign copies of her latest book, "Lidia Cooks from the Heart of Italy," for $24.99, a $10.01 savings off the cover price.
In addition to producing wine, books and cooking shows -- her current effort is "Lidia's Italy," airing weekly on WHYY-TV in Philadelphia -- Bastianich is the chef-owner of New York restaurants Felidia, Becco and Del Posto, and the Lidia's restaurants in Pittsburgh and Kansas City.
