LOS ANGELES, Jan. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Pacific Western Bank today announced a $100,000 donation to United Way's – Thomas Fire Fund to assist with rebuilding fire ravaged regions in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.
After California's largest wildfire devastated businesses and homes, many residents and business owners are now challenged with recovery and rebuilding. Central Coast Regional President, Lynda Nahra said this about the Bank's donation, "As we emerge from this disaster, it is clear that many face significant hurdles in rebuilding their lives. Our intent is to contribute in a manner that can quickly and efficiently reach those most in need. After much research I am pleased that United Way, through its Thomas Fire Fund, will best help us achieve our objectives in contributing to the recovery."
Pacific Western Bank has several banking and lending offices throughout Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, and is eager to assist. Nahra said, "We all are affected by the Thomas Fire and it will have a lingering effect. Owners were forced to close their business, resulting in lost revenue. Families have been displaced. Now, we want to help our neighbors rebuild which will help our local economy rebound."
The United Way – Thomas Fire Fund was created last December to directly support individuals and families affected by the fire in both counties. Pacific Western Bank and its employees have formed an ongoing relationship with the United Way, holding a yearly campaign supporting the charity, with proceeds benefiting the communities where Pacific Western Bank operates.
