Palisades Announces Jersey Diner's Choice Awards

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, N.J., Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- New Jersey is known for its diners. In fact, Bayonne, NJ is credited as the birthplace of the first structured diner. To celebrate this popular symbol of New Jersey culture, Palisades, the nice New Jersey car insurance company, is inviting New Jersey residents to vote for their favorite diner as part of the first Palisades "Jersey Diner's Choice Awards."

"Creating the Palisades Jersey Diner's Choice Awards was a natural step in our Drive with a Smile program," said Ed Fernandez, president and CEO of Palisades. "Nothing puts a smile on your face like a trip to your favorite New Jersey diner. Everybody has a story to tell about why their diner is the best, and through this campaign we're giving them a chance to share with the rest of us."

From October 21 to November 10, New Jersey residents can go to Palisades.com to nominate and vote for their favorite diner in eight fun categories – Best Burger, Best Breakfast, Best Fries, Best Salad, Best Cakes & Pies, Best Specials, Most Jersey and Nicest. Visitors to the site will be able to continue to cast votes for their favorite diner in each category until December 7 at 11:59pm EST.

The diner with the most votes at the end of the campaign will be eligible for the chance to host an event at its diner with Chef Duff Goldman from the Food Network series, Ace of Cakes*.  In addition, 10 individuals who voted will be randomly chosen to attend this event.  Diners with the most votes in each category will receive a Palisades Jersey Diner's Choice Awards plaque.

The Palisades "Jersey Diner's Choice Awards" is part of the Palisades Drive with a Smile initiative, a program designed to remind drivers about the best the Garden State has to offer and create nicer New Jersey driving moments and more smiles all around. The program kicked off last summer with the Palisades Highway Art Gallery competition and continued with the winter's "What Drives Your Holiday Smile?" photo contest.

To say thank you for participating in our latest Drive with a Smile contest, Palisades is offering New Jersey residents who are 18 years of age or older, who request an auto insurance quote from Palisades.com, the chance to win a Lifetime of Dining with a NJ Diner's Card, worth $5,000. Purchase of a policy is not required to enter or win this drawing.
