Palmetto Publishing Releases Anne Elder's Small-Town Mystery Novel The Silence Has Spoken

The third installment of Elder's Silence Series, published by Palmetto Publishing, follows an investigator and a determined woman as buried secrets and corporate conspiracy threaten to tear apart the town of Millersville.

CHARLESTON, S.C., Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Palmetto Publishing has released The Silence Has Spoken, the third book in author Anne Elder's Silence Series. The novel continues the saga of interconnected families in the fictional town of Millersville, where long-buried secrets, corporate negligence, and a deadly conspiracy converge in a story of betrayal, loyalty, and reckoning.

Set against the backdrop of a close-knit community where manicured gardens and familiar faces mask years of hidden truths, The Silence Has Spoken follows multiple characters as their lives collide. Investigator Jackson Palmer returns home to help his brother Seth and sister-in-law Olivia uncover the devastating circumstances surrounding the death of their granddaughter Abigail. What he finds runs far deeper than a single tragedy. Ancient electric towers and corporate negligence have poisoned more than the land, and a conspiracy of silence has protected the guilty for decades.

Morgan Kiernan, a woman whose identity is wrapped in layers of deception, is determined to expose those who destroyed her family, even if it means tearing apart the community she now calls home. Standing in her way is Elizabeth, the elegant matriarch who has spent decades keeping the past invisible. As Jackson's investigation tightens and Morgan's true identity begins to surface, alliances fracture. Elizabeth's own son Brett finds himself questioning everything he believed about the people closest to him. The stakes are personal, and in Millersville, the truth carries consequences no one can outrun.

Anne Elder stated, "I wanted readers to feel the weight of what happens when silence is used as a weapon. These characters have carried secrets that have cost them everything, from their families to their sense of who they are. This book is about what happens when the people who have been silenced finally decide they have nothing left to lose."

Fans of Nora Roberts's trilogies and Mary Higgins Clark's domestic thrillers will find familiar ground in Elder's multi-generational storytelling. The Silence Has Spoken follows The Current of Silence and The Silence is Broken, and readers who have invested in the series' recurring cast will find the threads of corporate conspiracy, romance, and personal redemption drawn to their tightest point yet.
