Pampers Continues its Year-long 50th Birthday Celebration by Partnering with Celebrity Fathers, Drew Lachey, James Van Der Beek, Shonn Greene and Alejandro Monteverde to Recognize New and Expectant Dads for All They Do

NEW YORK, June 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Pampers, the iconic and one of the original diaper brands to distribute disposable diapers around the globe, is continuing its year-long 50th birthday celebration with the completion of their most recent mission in its Little Miracle Missions program, which seeks to celebrate, support and protect babies everywhere through acts of kindness to little miracles (babies) and their families, while encouraging parents to "pay it forward" and support others.

To honor fathers for all that they do for their little miracles, Pampers asked consumers to log on to their Facebook page to pledge various acts of kindness for dads. In response to the commitment of pledges of support for Pampers' Father's Day mission, Pampers threw "First Father's Day Cook-Out" celebrations across the country for new and expecting fathers, providing them with the recognition that they deserve. The "First Father's Day Cook-Out" celebrations focused on all of the things that delight dads:  entertainment, grilling out, spending time with family and friends, and bonding time with baby!  

To launch the series of celebrations, Pampers partnered with celebrity fathers, including Entertainer Drew Lachey, Actor (and first-time dad) James Van Der Beek, New York Jets Running Back Shonn Greene and Film Director Alejandro Monteverde (along with his wife, Actress Ali Landry) to kick-off the inaugural "First Father's Day Cook-Out" celebration yesterday evening at Stage 37 in New York City. Event attendees were able to enjoy a special cook-out complete with BBQ fare and activities with their little ones, including crawling courses and "Dad and Baby" handprint and photo stations.

Throughout the remainder of the week leading up to Father's Day weekend, "First Father's Day Cook-Out" celebrations will also be held in cities across the country, including Boston, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C.

Since launching in April 2011, the Little Miracle Missions program has seen Pampers donate more than 30,000 care packages to over 800 NICUs in the country and throw hundreds of baby showers for expectant mothers across the country in celebration of Mother's Day.
