Panasonic Acquires Omni-ID's ProVIEW, Bolstering IIoT Capabilities for Manufacturers
NEWARK, N.J., April 1, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Panasonic today announced that it has acquired the ProVIEW solutions business unit from Rochester, NY-based Omni-ID.
ProVIEW solutions, which will be part of Panasonic Industrial Devices Sales Company of America, provide material flow management solutions to the manufacturing industry with a unique combination of its e-label "View" tags and software. Winner of the "Global Material Flow Management for Manufacturing 4.0 Product Leadership Award" from Frost & Sullivan, ProVIEW replaces paper-based material flow processes with digital based solutions – creating "smart materials"- a cornerstone of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
By combining ProVIEW's strength in developing and deploying manufacturing solutions for material flow and traceability with Panasonic's existing industrial devices business, Panasonic will accelerate deployment of complete IIoT solutions, which will enhance process visibility and offer unprecedented control to its global customer base. This combination will drive greater efficiencies and process traceability for customers enabling smart manufacturing.
