Panasonic Unveils 2015 Line Of Multifunctional Blu-ray Disc™ Players

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Panasonic unveiled today two slim Smart Network Blu-ray Disc™ Players – DMP-BDT270 and DMP-BD93 -- at the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES).  Pricing and availability will be announced at a later date at www.panasonic.com.

The DMP-BDT270 Smart Network 3D Blu-ray Disc Player features a 4K Up-scaling function that easily up converts the user's Full-HD content to high-definition 4K images. The BDT270 also offers a wide variety of other functions, including a Web Browser mode and a DLNA function for connecting to a home network and viewing photos and videos from anywhere in the house.

Both the DMP-BDT270 and DMP-BD93 support Miracast™ for mirroring the content of a smartphone or tablet directly onto a large TV screen. The newly advanced HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) feature also lets the user easily operate both the TV and the Blu-ray Disc™ Player with a single remote control for dramatically improved convenience.

4K Up-Scaling^*1 (DMP-BDT270) – The BDT270's 4K Up-Scaling function takes the high resolution of Blu-ray Disc movies to a whole new level of clarity.  Powerful processing adds millions of additional pixels to Blu-ray's original Full-HD resolution giving you images filled with much more sharpness, texture and detail.

DLNA (DMP-BDT270) -- Easily share and enjoy digital photos, music, and videos with home networking. Users can access, browse and view media stored on a server while in another room without having to worry about shuffling discs.

Web Browser^*2 (DMP-BDT270) -- Browse the Internet, enjoy your favorite websites and shop online right on your HDTV.

Miracast™ (DMP-BDT270/ DMP-BD93) -- Easily reproduce on your TV photos and videos stored on your smartphones and share them with family and friends. Miracast establishes a direct Wi-Fi connection between your devices eliminating the need to have access to a Wi-Fi router.

Internet Apps^*3 (DMP-BDT270/ DMP-BD93*⁴) -- Since they can access the internet, Panasonic Blu-ray Disc™ Players deliver a wide range of online resources, such as video and music streaming services, video games and a wide range of entertainment and information apps.

HDMI CEC (DMP-BDT270/ DMP-BD93) -- The HDMI CEC feature makes it possible to connect your VIERA HDTV to the Blu-ray Disc™ Player with an HDMI cable and use the VIERA remote to also operate the Blu-ray Disc™ Player (power ON/OFF, chapter selection, etc.).This eliminates the need to change remote controls or make complicated button operations. Watching is more enjoyable with simpler operation.
