NEW YORK, Dec. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Some war stories never make the news or history books, but they're major events that forever change the lives of those involved. On each episode of Panoply Media's new podcast, Battle Scars, host and former soldier Thom Tran talks to fellow veterans of our most recent wars.
Tran enlisted in the Army when he was 18 and was awarded the Purple Heart in 2003 after he was shot in the back of the head during a firefight in Iraq. Tran ultimately retired due to his injuries in 2005. Comedy became Tran's therapy after combat, so he's made it his mission to bring comedy to deployed soldiers with his group, The GIs of Comedy.
With Battle Scars, Tran encourages other veterans to open up about their experiences and share the sometimes sad, funny and action-packed stories with listeners.
