The GenAI agent for VS Code gives C/C++ developers another layer of intelligence to expedite resolutions of code violations in VS Code, one of the world's most popular integrated development environments (IDEs). Residing within Microsoft Copilot, the agent works with Parasoft's static analysis tool to analyze software code for violations and then delivers in-depth problem explanations based on specific business requirements, industry best practices, and compliance standards, such as MISRA and CWE Top 25.

In addition to pinpointing the violation and recommending rules-based resolutions, this latest Parasoft extension proposes automatic code corrections. All actions associated with this closed-loop workflow take place within the IDE, eliminating tedious and time-consuming intermediate steps and context switching. The results empower developers to build high-quality code at the source, while reducing development time by up to 30%. Available now, Parasoft's new GenAI agent is being piloted by top customers, including a major automotive manufacturer and multinational semiconductor and telecommunications equipment company.
