Parathyroid Surgeons Named Among Best Surgeons and Doctors in America Again in 2012

TAMPA, Fla., May 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. James Norman, Dr. Douglas Politz, and Dr. Jose Lopez of the Norman Parathyroid Center have been recognized by multiple groups as the best doctors for 2012. They had already been recognized in the top 1% of surgeons by US News and World Reports.  But when each was chosen this past month as "America's Top Surgeons" by the Consumers Research Council of America, it completed a sweep of the most important awards given annually to doctors at the top of their profession. The America's Top Surgeon award is chosen based upon recommendations from other surgeons. It is the 10th year the surgeons at the Parathyroid Center have been placed in the elite surgeon category.

All three parathyroid surgeons were awarded the Patients Choice Award for 2011, the 6th consecutive year they have received this prestigious award. In contrast to the Top Surgeon award, the Patient's Choice Award is based upon ratings from patients, grading doctors on bedside manner, time spent with the patient, follow up, courtesy of the staff, and their overall opinion of the doctor's expertise. Finally, all three surgeons were once again honored by inclusion to America's Top Doctors for 2012, recognizing the top 5% of all doctors, not just surgeons. This is the 12th year for these parathyroid surgeons to be selected for this honor. Like the America's Top Surgeon award, the Top Doctors award is based upon recommendations by other doctors.
