Charging data firm accelerates its market expansion and launches new standardized data services and a real-time API
SAN FRANCISCO, June 30, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Paren Inc., a leading provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging data analytics and insights, today announced the formation of its Advisory Board, chaired by Gabe Klein, former Director of the U.S. Joint Office of Energy and Transportation. The board, which also includes senior leaders from Google, Lyft, and Stanford's Graduate School of Business, will guide Paren in its path to continued growth.
Luc Vincent, currently driving AI & Mapping at Nexar as their Chief R&D Officer, founder of Google Street View, venture capitalist, entrepreneur, and former Lyft and Meta executive, will advise Paren on AI strategies and the company's alignment with the broader map industry. Garth Saloner, former Dean and current Botha-Chan Professor of Economics at Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and a pioneer thinker on the "network effect," will advise the company on the wider adoption of the Paren data platform with charge-point operators (CPOs), automakers, hardware manufacturers, rideshare operators, and other mobility companies. The company expects to announce additional advisory board members in the coming months.
"I'm extremely proud of what we accomplished at the Joint Office in a short period of time to move the charging industry forward," said Gabe Klein. "Leading the Paren Advisory Board is an opportunity to help drive reliability, transparency, financial sustainability, and industry standardization in public charging—powered by a game-changing data platform."
Founded in March 2024 by ex-Tesla executive CEO Florent Breton and former IBM executive CTO Bill Ferro, Paren has the largest DC fast charging dataset in North America. The rapidly growing company expects to track more than 140 million U.S. fast charging sessions in 2025 — a 40% YoY increase. Other recent Paren milestones include:
- Added several new customers including leading national and regional fast charging networks and automakers.
- Expanded charging infrastructure tracking in North America, which now includes a large percentage of Canadian fast-charging ports.
- Introduced industry-first new data offerings, including pricing by charging station as well as station amenities.
- Opened an office in Quebec, Canada, doubled the number of employees, and increased YoY revenue run rate by 5x.
- Launched its quarterly State of the Industry Charging Report, which quickly became the leading source of utilization, reliability, and pricing data for the media and charging industry.
The company will soon launch into beta its API for automakers and mapmakers to stream real-time data into EV navigation systems. This API will enable our exclusive Route Assistant to guide EV drivers to available, reliable fast charging stations that match their price, amenity, power, connector, and safety-level preferences.
"We've seen an incredible amount of excitement and traction with customers for our industry-leading charging datasets," stated Paren CEO Florent Breton. "Now we're honored to have distinguished executives like Gabe, Luc, and Garth provide insights and advice to help propel Paren to the next stage."
