Parker Ibrahim & Berg LLC Taps Intellectual Property Partner Julie Nichols Matthews for Chicago Office

CHICAGO, June 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Julie Nichols Matthews, an attorney with more than 20 years of experience, has joined Parker Ibrahim & Berg LLC ("PIB Law") as a Partner in the Intellectual Property practice group.

Ms. Matthews' practice focuses on counseling and disputes arising in connection with trademarks, copyrights, domain names, consumer privacy and advertising.  Ms. Matthews advises clients on brand selection, IP issues arising on the Internet, registration and portfolio management, brand protection and the use of social media, global policing and enforcement strategies, franchising and licensing, advertising and promotions, and compliance with FTC regulations and guidelines.  She has successfully litigated infringement disputes in federal courts, administrative disputes before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and domain name disputes in the National Arbitration Forum.

Ms. Matthews has notable experience advising clients in such diverse industries as consumer products, entertainment, specialty chemicals, agribusiness, personal care, food and beverage, advertising and marketing, travel and hospitality, manufacturing, software and financial services.

Ms. Matthews is a member of the International Trademark Association, the American and Chicago Bar Associations, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.  She comes to PIB Law from Locke Lord LLP where she was a Partner.

Ms. Matthews received an LL.M. degree, with honors, from the John Marshall Law School, a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University.  She is admitted to practice in Illinois, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the Northern District of Colorado, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
