BALTIMORE, Dec. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Two young Baltimore startups have come together in an effort to drive young adults toward financial literacy and financially secure futures. Together, OnTrajectory, a visual financial modeling tool, and Ortus Academy, a learning-game edtech company, are carving new paths for young students in and out of the city.

Ortus Academy developed an interactive game to teach young students about money in a way that connects the emotional and decision-making aspects of finance. Here, students play NumisMatters, where they use paper money and strategize ways to earn the top cash prize. After gameplay, lessons guide students through subject-matter via interactive lessons, where OnTrajectory is now able to help create visuals and models to showcase the impact of small decisions over a lifetime.

OnTrajectory is a financial GPS, one that allows a user to visually and numerically track the impact of the current decisions and financial changes to their long term. It' s an interactive tool that moves and shapes to your life and your future. OnTrajectory's visual aspects allow for easy integration into the youth program Ortus Academy provides.

Ortus Academy's financial literacy lessons, which already reach hundreds of students, will soon help students fully visualize their future monetary decisions in real-time – seeing if they've learned to better their lives or create massive amounts of future debt.

OnTrajectory's financial planning tool will help provide a visual component and build-out a unique platform allowing Ortus Academy's NumisMatters game components to be represented as visual outputs during classroom lessons.

Ortus Academy is connected with schools, universities and programs throughout the Greater-Baltimore-Washington region, and hopes to bring this special mix of tools and insights to their audiences as they grow.

OnTrajectory alone is a powerful platform helping individuals and families see the impact of long-term financial decisions, but together with Ortus Academy, the positive educational impact can happen earlier, faster and more intensely than ever.
