BOULDER, Colo., Aug. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- PasswordPing, a cyber-security startup that screens online accounts for compromised credentials, is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Greene as Chief Executive Officer. Mike C. Wilson, who has served in the role of CEO since founding the company in 2016, will now assume the role of Chief Technology Officer to better drive innovation and expand PasswordPing's product offerings. Mr. Greene will focus on the business side of the organization in conjunction with the Chief Operating Officer, Joshua Horwitz.
PasswordPing was created to help secure the essential password security layer for corporate websites and corporate networks. PasswordPing allows organizations to block unauthorized authentication in real time by screening logins against billions of known, compromised credentials.
"Our revenue growth at PasswordPing has been exponential since we started it in 2016 and with the increasing market demand for compromised credential screening solutions, we need to expand our team and expertise to continue this trajectory. We are excited to bring in Mike's business acumen, deep security industry background and business development expertise, which allows me to sharpen my focus on product management, product development, research and technology," commented Mike C. Wilson, Founder and CTO of PasswordPing. "Mike Greene and I have worked closely together over the years, initially at Webroot and later at a small startup, so this is a natural fit. As CEO at publicly-traded ID Watchdog, he turned the company around from the brink of insolvency to a multimillion dollar business, capping it off with a successful exit to Equifax after only 6 years at the helm. I am confident he will be able to dramatically accelerate our already healthy growth at PasswordPing."
Michael Greene is a growth-oriented CEO and General Manager with extensive experience spanning from operations to sales, in a variety of international high growth companies. Prior to PasswordPing, Mike was the CEO of ID Watchdog, an identity theft protection company that was sold to Equifax in 2017. Before ID Watchdog, Mike held senior management positions at Symantec, PC Tools, Webroot, Thompson Micromedex, Raindance and Baxter. Mike graduated with an MBA from the University of Colorado in 2000 and has a BA in Molecular Biology from CU in 1995.
"PasswordPing is an innovative company with some of the brightest people I have ever worked with. We have deep expertise in the security industry and we have the best compromised credential screening product on the market," says Mike Greene, the new CEO of PasswordPing. "The opportunity ahead of us is huge: the market for compromised credential screening is nascent and rapidly expanding. To seize this opportunity, we have to move fast, build partnerships and extend our product offerings to meet the challenges of a constantly evolving security market and threat landscape. I am truly honored to be selected as PasswordPing's CEO and I am excited about the future of this organization."
