CALGARY, Alberta, Aug. 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Patricia Marie Corbett is recognized by Continental Who's Who among Pinnacle Professionals in the field of Mental Health. Patricia works in family support, non-profit sector.
A lifelong learner and registered social worker possessing over a decade of experience, Patricia identifies an ally in the disability sector. Her primary concentration lies in providing support and education, parenting assistance and focusing on supporting individuals to recognize and access their own strengths.
She strongly believes in a systems approach in building awareness, developing policy and resources with input from those most affected (e.g. policies re: funding and program, support) and that each individual has his or her own story and the right to have that story actively heard. Patricia is privileged to have the opportunity to work in at-home settings and is working with her son to develop counseling-based photobooks.
Throughout the course of her education and training, Patricia earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Calgary in addition to her Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) from the University of Alberta. She holds a specialty diploma in Applied Psychology, Psychoeducational Skills and Guidance from the University of Calgary as well. Patricia earned her Masters of Counselling (Counselling Psychology) through the tri-University Initiative. (University of Calgary, University of Lethbridge, and Athabasca University) She credits much of her learning to family members who function with challenges and to individuals she has the opportunity to work with.
