Mr. Nonna has also been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2014 for excellence in the practice of Commercial Litigation, Insurance Law, and Litigation related to mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Nonna will be recognized in the upcoming edition of Best Lawyers in America, which marks the 20th edition of the publication.
"John Nonna is richly deserving of these honors," said Edward J. Newberry, managing partner of Patton Boggs. "He is an asset to his clients, to Patton Boggs, and to the practice of law. All of us at Patton Boggs congratulate him on this recognition and wish him continued success."
Mr. Nonna is perhaps best known for his work in insurance and reinsurance litigation. He has also tried a broad range of business matters and is known for his work on complex cases involving accounting malpractice, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, breaches of warranties and representations, employment discrimination, distributorship agreements, stock and asset purchase agreements, and M&A disputes.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial lawyers, and has been ranked Band 1, nationally and in New York, in insurance dispute resolution by Chambers Guide to America's Leading Lawyers for Business. Mr. Nonna also appears in the American Lawyer Guide, Best Lawyers in America, Commercial Litigation and Insurance Dispute Resolution, and has been named one of the top 100 lawyers in the New York metropolitan area by New York Super Lawyers. He has also held executive-level positions with a number of committees of the New York State Bar Association.
Mr. Nonna is not the only Patton Boggs attorney to earn recognition this week. Partners Douglas C. Boggs, Robert S. Kapla, Douglas C. Proxmire, and Of Counsel Elizabeth Gill were named by The National Law Journal as "D.C. Deal Makers of the Year" in a special report just released by the publication. "D.C. Deal Makers of the Year" highlights attorneys who "tackled some of the most notable transactions" last year – including two deals in which Patton Boggs attorneys played pivotal roles: advising the Republic of Cameroon on a $10 billion infrastructure project and leading the successful protest by Citelum of a $100 million contract awarded by the District of Columbia Department of Transportation.
