A widely regarded theology studies educator, researcher and pastor, Dr. Chang has served as a director of the Institute for Researchers on Metatheology for more than a decade. In this position, he is also recognized as an advisor to the director of the General International Biographical Center and secretary general of the United Cultural Convention. Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Chang has contributed numerous articles to professional journals pertaining to his areas of expertise. His most well-known authored works include "Destiny Determinations in Ancient Mesopotamia, A Criterion for Culture Critique of the Ancient World," "Promotionsschrift," "Habilitationsschrift" and "Metatheology." Dr. Chang is also credited as a contributor of "The Cardiomorphological Functions of the Sumerian SA for Heart," which was published in the Journal of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
In recognition of his contributions to the study of theology, Dr. Chang was listed among the 500 Greatest Geniuses of the 21st Century by the American Biographical Institute Board of Governors in 2007. He has been featured in a wide range of honors publications, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education and Who's Who in the World. Dr. Chang has been recognized as a guest lecturer and visiting scholar with a variety of institutions, including the International Conference on the Tower of Babel and Ziggurats and the American Oriental Society at the University of California, University of Pennsylvania and Cornell University. He briefly served as a research scholar with Duke University at the turn of the century.
Early in his career, Dr. Chang attended Seoul National University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in 1961 and Master of Arts in 1967. During this time, he served as a first lieutenant in the Republic of the Korean Army for four years. Dr. Chang went on to complete a Master of Arts through Duke University in 1971, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy through the University of Münster in 1980. Upon completing formal education, he served as a director with the Aram Institute for Ancient Studies for more than 20 years. Between 1983 and 2001, Dr. Chang was also recognized as president of the Korean Society for Ancient Near Eastern Studies. He joined Hansei University as a professor in 1990 and held this position for more than a decade.
