ORANGEBURG, N.Y., Sept. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- PDI, a leader in infection prevention products and solutions, today announced it will host a Peer-to-Peer Platinum Showcase at the 2016 Annual Meeting of the Association for Vascular Access at the Disney Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Fla. on Sunday, Sept. 18.
The session, titled A Team Journey to Eliminate Vascular Access Infections, will be led by Lissa H. Garrod, MSN RN VA-BC, Clinical Informatics Nurse at Bronson Healthcare Group. From 3:45 to 4:45 p.m., participants will discuss cooperative practices utilized to decrease vascular access complications, as well as standardization of care methods to improve patient outcomes.
"Vascular access complications unfortunately continue to be a source of patient morbidity and mortality all too often. While investment in the development of superior products is one critical step to tackling this very real problem, we are honored once again to participate at AVA and support industry-wide efforts in promoting education about patient safety solutions," said Keith St. John, Vice President of Clinical Affairs at PDI. "This session will demonstrate the power of collaborative efforts and the ongoing commitment to quality patient care by healthcare professionals."
Additionally, from Sept. 16 to 19, PDI's exhibitor booth 323 will feature its full line of Prevantics® products, a vascular infection prevention solution containing a 3.15 percent Chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) and 70 percent Isopropyl Alcohol formulation. The latest addition to the product line, Prevantics® Device Swab Strip, provides effective central line associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) protection at point-of-care, where and when healthcare professionals need it most.
