PeeperSpecs continues to help others see the world a little more clearly by donating reading glasses to organizations all over the world
MICHIGAN CITY, Ind., Dec. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- PeeperSpecs, a forerunner and leading manufacturer of innovative and fashionable eyewear for more than 30 years, carries on the family tradition by donating reading glasses to non-profit organizations worldwide.
For PeeperSpecs, 2013 was the year of giving back. With a retail value of over $16,000 of reading glasses donated, PeeperSpecs continues to provide the gift of sight! One of the many organizations that PeeperSpecs donates its product to, is the Lions Club International. In November of 2013 we partnered with the Lions Club of Mexico where free eye exams were offered and Peepers were dispersed to the local community. 'SEE'ing is believing, and PeeperSpecs plans to carry on that belief. Another great organization that Peepers was able to partner with in Mexico is the Medical Missions Team of Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas. This team went on a mission's trip to Guadalajara, Mexico for the purpose to serve the people of that community with medical care. Peepers was informed by David Strong, missions leader, that the glasses were cherished by those who received them and the many who could not afford to buy reading glasses were extremely grateful. PeeperSpecs doesn't stop there.
In May of 2013, PeeperSpecs provided reading glasses to the Homeopaths without Borders nonprofit humanitarian organization in Haiti. This organization offers homeopathic treatment to foster independence in the use of homeopathic medicine. The volunteers were able to take Peepers reading glasses with them on many of their trips to different Haitian communities and hand them out to children, adults and families. PeeperSpecs continues to stay in touch with the organization and plans to take part in future donations.
PeeperSpecs not only donates overseas, there were many local nonprofit organizations where reading glasses were needed and PeeperSpecs was there to help. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berrien/Cass County of Michigan, Lubeznik Center, Notre Dame Elementary School and St. Paul Lutheran Church, all of Michigan City, Indiana and Salvation Army.
"We're finishing up another great year here at Peepers and we consider ourselves lucky to have the opportunity to partner with so many reputable charitable organizations. Having the chance to give back is such an amazing and rewarding experience; we can only hope to outmatch our efforts for years to come." – Alec Sammann, CEO
