PEEPS® Hops Into Homes With First Ever Holiday Season TV Advertising

BETHLEHEM, Pa., Dec. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Just Born Quality Confections, the family-owned maker of PEEPS®, MIKE AND IKE®, HOT TAMALES® and GOLDENBERG'S® PEANUT CHEWS® Brand Candies, today announced the launch of a new PEEPS® advertising campaign, "Santa Hop." The new advertising marks the first time that PEEPS® will have television presence during the holiday season, elevating the visibility of the brand's holiday offerings and raising awareness for PEEPS® outside of their core Easter selling season.

"The new holiday creative helps demonstrate our commitment to our wide range of festive and fun marshmallow candies and the fun-loving, quirky nature of the brand so our consumers can add a little PEEPSONALITY® into their holiday season; not to mention some sweet stocking stuffers."

The new PEEPS® creative debuted on December 1, with a :30 television spot airing nationally. Additionally, digital banner advertisements and social programs began on November 25, and all activations will run throughout the Christmas season. The thematic of the creative helps to figuratively bridge the gap between two of the core seasons for the PEEPS® brand—Christmas and Easter. The spot features a traditional night-before-Christmas scene, but with a quirky twist that only the PEEPS® brand can accomplish.  When Santa arrives to deliver gifts, it seems as though he has a bit more spring in his step. He hops through the house replicating the Easter Bunny's role of delivering PEEPS®, but for Christmas. The spot also features the famed Bunny Hop music.

The "Santa Hop" campaign will help open consumers' eyes to the wealth of holiday offerings that will enable them to express their PEEPSONALITY® in a number of ways, whether using the marshmallow treats for stocking stuffers, as finishing touches on colorful holiday desserts or as thematic embellishments for fun holiday crafts. PEEPS® holiday products include the Candy Cane Flavored Marshmallow Chicks Dipped in Chocolate featured in the advertising spots, Sugar Cookie Flavored Marshmallow Chicks Dipped in Milk Chocolate (new for this season), Chocolate Mousse Flavored Marshmallow Reindeer, Chocolate Covered Mint Trees, Marshmallow Snowmen, Marshmallow Trees and Gingerbread Flavored Men among many other festive treats. Creative for the campaign was developed by New York-based agency The Terri & Sandy Solution, who also created the TV campaign that debuted Easter season 2012.
