Pelagia Trattoria Sets Prix-Fixe Menu with Traditional, Seasonal Dishes for Thanksgiving

TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- An enticing array of chef-curated dishes will offer Thanksgiving diners a delicious way to create their ideal three-course meal at an International mall restaurant.

Reservations at Pelagia Trattoria are now available from noon to 8 p.m. on Nov. 24, 2016. The restaurant is in the lobby of Renaissance Tampa International Plaza Hotel.

Enjoy a Tampa Thanksgiving dinner in an elegant Mediterranean atmosphere with hand-glazed tiles, custom ironwork and blown-glass light fixtures complementing contemporary expressive art. The fine-dining restaurant is intimate and offers a full view of an open kitchen. Executive Chef Brett Austin Gardiner leads the team at the Italian eatery that prides itself on dishes created from fresh ingredients including the finest beef, seafood, veal, lamb and hand-made pastas.

Thanksgiving guests will be able to create their personal prix-fixe menu by choosing from a selection of entrees, side items and house-made desserts. The $45-per-person cost includes one glass of Prosecco or sparkling apple cider but is exclusive of tax and gratuity.

Among the offerings for the Thanksgiving Day feast are:

First course (choice of one)

• Spiced autumn squash soup
• Roasted beets, goat cheese and arugula with black truffle dressing
• Peeled Brussels sprouts topped with Marcona almonds, wild blueberries and gruyere
• Seared shrimp and crab cake topped with saffron cilantro crème fraiche

Second course (choice of one)

• Citrus and herb stuffed turkey breast roulade with fresh cranberry orange chutney
• Porcini and garlic slow-roasted standing rib roast with horseradish and Chianti demi-glace
• Pumpkin seed-crusted hog snapper with toasted chestnut beurre blanc

Entrees are served with house-made Italian sausage and exotic mushroom dressing, rustic golden butter mashed potatoes and green beans with toasted almonds.

Third course (choice of one)

• Spiced pumpkin whoopie pies
• Pumpkin tiramisu
• Chocolate gelato-stuffed cream puffs with chocolate ganache
• Granny Smith apple and cinnamon tart
• Caramel pecan pumpkin bread pudding

Gardiner has also designed a special vegan menu that includes a toasted black walnut and chick pea pate; organic quinoa with confit garlic and cipollini onions; and spiced eggplant caponata.
