PEMA to Host Briefings to Help Municipal, County Officials Apply for Federal Reimbursement for February Storms
HARRISBURG, Pa., April 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Starting April 26, the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency will hold briefings in 26 counties to guide local officials through the process of applying for federal disaster assistance stemming from the severe snow storms that hit the state Feb. 5 – 11.
Earlier this month, President Barack Obama approved a federal disaster declaration for Public Assistance for storm costs in Adams, Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Bedford, Blair, Butler, Cambria, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Fulton, Greene, Huntingdon, Indiana, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, Philadelphia, Somerset, Westmoreland, and York counties.
The applicant briefings, which are the first of two meetings required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, will offer an overview of the federal reimbursement process and the required documentation for applications. At the briefing, each applicant should be prepared to schedule their kick-off meeting – the second FEMA-required meeting – starting the week of May 3.
