Peninsula Mansion To Be Auctioned June 1
Prized South Florida Real Estate Gem
MIAMI, May 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The 'Peninsula Mansion', one of South Florida's prized real estate gems featuring nearly 8,000 square feet surrounded by water on three sides, will be auctioned off Saturday, June 1, as part of a major estate auction.
The auction begins at 11 a.m., with a 10 a.m. preview.
The unique property, featuring five bedrooms, five full baths and more than 550 feet of waterfront, is located on the Intracoastal Waterway at 501 Palm Drive in Golden Isles/Hallandale. The custom built home, listed for $5.8 million, also features two wood burning fireplaces, vaulted ceilings, a large country eat-in kitchen and a pool set on nearly a full acre, boasts unique craftsmanship of over 200,000 old Chicago bricks.
"I know this is an overly used phrase, but this is, indeed, a once-in-a-lifetime property," said Auction Company of America President Jim Gall, who was featured in the New York Times and on ABC's Nightline. "Because of its unique location, this peninsula mansion offers spectacular views as well as more than 230 feet of protected deep water canal, making this property ideal for yacht owners."
Gall, who was also featured in the South Florida-based television show, The Glades, may be auctioning the peninsula mansion under the glare of television lights again. NBC's award-winning Peacock Productions will be at the auction shooting footage for a national docu-series that is in the early development stages. Details on the series and its premiere date will be announced at a later date.
In addition to the Peninsula Mansion itself, a wide variety of personal property valued at approximately $750,000—including objects of art and jewelry—will be auctioned.
