Pennsylvania Company Plays a Key Role in London 2012 Olympic Closing Ceremony Fireworks
STATE COLLEGE, Pa., Aug. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- FireOne, developer of the world's most advanced digital firing system and integrated fireworks-to-music choreography system, is proud to support U.K.-based Kimbolton Fireworks to create spectacular fireworks for the closing ceremonies of the 2012 Olympic Games. FireOne proprietary technology was also pivotal in the success of the opening ceremony fireworks display on July 27.
With fireworks bursting over Olympic Park and high above the London skyline, the pyrotechnic display at the closing ceremony will be as stunning as they were for the opening ceremony. "FireOne is proud to join with Kimbolton Fireworks, one of the United Kingdom's most prominent pyrotechnic display firms, to execute these fully choreographed fireworks displays for the London Olympic ceremonies," said FireOne President Dan Barker. The companies' collaboration will continue when FireOne supports Kimbolton for the London 2012 Paralympics opening and closing ceremonies on August 29 and September 9.
The magnitude of this year's opening and closing displays are striking. They were preceded by eight months of preparation involving dozens of technical and support staff. When the closing ceremony concludes, more than 14,000 shells will have been fired from more than 7,000 firing circuits, all carefully choreographed to a music score. FireOne technology ignites each of the 14,000 pyrotechnic devices at the correct time and location to bring Kimboltons' fire and light creation to life.
Celebrating its 21st anniversary and with clients in more than 50 countries worldwide, FireOne has pioneered the integration of software and hardware to create some of the world's most spectacular fireworks displays. Kimbolton Fireworks is one of the most prominent fireworks display firms in the U.K., having won numerous international display competitions since it was founded in the 1960s.
