ARDMORE, Pa., June 4, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) today welcomed former Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Tommy Greene to the grand opening of the new, more customer-friendly Fine Wine & Good Spirits Premium Collection Store in the Ardmore Plaza Shopping Center at 62 Greenfield Ave., Ardmore.
"We're thrilled to be opening this new Fine Wine & Good Spirits Premium Collection Store and providing consumers a whole new look and feel when they walk into our store," said Board Member Joseph E. "Skip" Brion. "This retail location is one of the busiest from a dollar sales perspective, so it's incredibly important that we offer consumers the best shopping experience possible, and we're happy Tommy Greene could join us."
Greene visited the Ardmore Fine Wine & Good Spirits Premium Collection Store today to meet with fans and sign bottles of the Philadelphia Phillies Club Series Red Wine by Chaddsford Winery.
Tommy Greene was a starting pitcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1989 to 1997 with Atlanta Braves, Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros. During his pitching career with the Phillies from 1990 to 1995, Greene threw a no-hitter against the Montreal Expos, becoming the first visiting pitcher to hurl a no-hitter in Montreal's history. Greene had a breakout year with the Phillies in 1993, winning 16 games that season and starting Game 4 of the World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays. Currently, Greene is an analyst on the Comcast SportsNet's broadcast team.
At more than 14,000 square feet, this new retail outlet in Ardmore offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere for consumers to browse the extensive selection and taste featured wine and spirits. The focal point of the new store is a large center table, where customers can always find staff to answer questions or provide recommendations. - A food pairing outline
- A party planning guide
- A calorie chart
- Tips for responsible hosting and consumption
Additionally, the new store will have a "Made in Pennsylvania" section to highlight wine and spirits produced in Pennsylvania.
