Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 Jackpot Tickets Sold in Pittsburgh, Lehigh County

MIDDLETOWN, Pa., Sept. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Jackpot-winning Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 tickets were recently sold in Pittsburgh and Lehigh County.

A Cash 5 ticket worth $500,000 from the Friday, Aug. 30, drawing was sold at Bloomfield BP, 4006 Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh. It correctly matched all five balls, 06-07-22-35-37, to win a jackpot of $500,000, less 25 percent federal withholding. The retailer will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

A Cash 5 ticket worth $125,000 from the Saturday, Aug. 31, drawing was sold at Weis Markets, 5020 State Route 873, Schnecksville, Lehigh County. It correctly matched all five balls, 01-07-15-25-35, to win a jackpot of $125,000, less 25 percent federal withholding. The retailer will receive a $500 selling bonus.

Lottery officials cannot confirm the identities of the winners until the prizes are claimed and the tickets are validated. Cash 5 winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.

The Lottery encourages holders of winning tickets to sign the back of the tickets, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at any of Lottery's seven area offices or at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County.

Claims may be filed Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at area offices and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lottery headquarters.

More than 87,700 other prize-winning Cash 5 tickets were also sold for the Aug. 30 and Aug. 31 drawings.

In fiscal year 2011-12, the Pennsylvania Lottery awarded a total of more than $244.5 million in prizes to winners in Allegheny and Lehigh counties. The Lottery also contributed nearly $146.9 million to programs that benefited older residents of those counties.

How to play Cash 5: To play Cash 5, players pay $1 and select five numbers from 1 to 43. Players may select their own numbers using a Cash 5 playslip, or they may opt for computer-selected quick picks. Players must match all five numbers drawn to win the jackpot. Players also win prizes for matching two, three or four winning numbers. Cash 5 drawings are held seven nights a week, and tickets can be purchased up to seven draws (one week) in advance. Odds of winning the jackpot prize are 1-in-962,598; the overall odds of winning any prize are about 1-in-10.5.
