PennWell Releases Program Guide For NUCLEAR POWER International 2012

TULSA, Okla., Sept. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- PennWell Corporation is pleased to announce the release of the preliminary event guide for the NUCLEAR POWER International conference being held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida from Tuesday, December 11 until Thursday, December 13, 2012.

The event guide includes an invitation from Brian Wheeler, NUCLEAR POWER International Program Committee Chair and Editor of Nuclear Power International magazine, to attend the conference as well as detailed information on the conference program.

The conference program begins with a keynote address by E. James Ferland, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Babcock & Wilcox Company. Prior to assuming his role with The Babcock & Wilcox Company in April 2012, Mr. Ferland served as President of the Americas division at Westinghouse Electric Company, where he was in charge of $2.5 billion of commercial nuclear energy business, including fuel, services, digital controls and new nuclear plant licensing and construction in North & South America.

Guests will also hear from Gordon L. Gillette, President, Tampa Electric & Peoples Gas, and Jon Wellinghoff, Chairman of the Federal Regulatory Commission. All three keynote speakers will address the challenges that lie ahead for the power generation industry.

The conference program also includes four mega sessions covering various issues currently facing the nuclear power industry, including a major U.S. nuclear projects update, a discussion of nuclear power strategies in the post-Fukushima era, and a look at emerging nuclear power programs globally.

Additionally, a mega session titled "Keeping Up with Demand: Building the Nuclear Supply Chain" will focus on all nuclear supply chain issues, such as the steps to become a qualified supplier, including testimonials from suppliers who have made the transition to nuclear. This session will also provide experiences from a buyer's vantage point on the best ways to find and verify suppliers, complete with a workshop for aspiring suppliers.
