TORONTO and DALLAS, Oct. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Perimeter Medical Imaging AI, Inc. ("Perimeter" or the "Company") (TSXV: PINK) (OTCQX: PYNKF), a commercial-stage medical technology company, today announced that Claire™, its AI-enabled imaging device for margin assessment during breast-conserving surgery, has received a special mention in TIME's Best Inventions of 2026, earning national recognition for its approach to helping surgeons identify difficult-to-see, potentially cancerous tissue during surgery. Additional industry recognitions include a TAG Award, Gold and Best of Category honors in the Globee® Awards for Innovation, and finalist selections in the 2026 Fierce Life Sciences Innovation Awards and D CEO's 2027 Innovation Awards.

During breast-conserving surgery, cancer cells at the edges of the removed tissue can be microscopic and difficult to detect during the initial procedure.¹ Patients typically must wait until after surgery for a final pathology report to confirm whether those margins are clear of cancer. If cancer is found at the tissue edges, patients may need another operation to remove additional tissue. Approximately one in five breast-conserving surgery patients require another operation because cancer is found at or near the edges of the removed tissue.²

Claire™, the first FDA-approved, AI-enabled imaging device in the U.S. for intraoperative breast cancer margin assessment, combines Perimeter's patented wide-field optical coherence tomography imaging with proprietary AI to provide three-dimensional, real-time visualization of excised tissue. Its AI identifies and marks focal areas suspicious for breast cancer, giving surgeons additional information to consider alongside other standard methods of margin assessment while the patient is still in the operating room.

Claire Indications for Use: The Claire OCT System is an adjunctive three-dimensional imaging tool, providing volumetric cross-sectional, real-time depth visualization, coupled with an artificial intelligence computer-aided detection algorithm, which identifies and marks focal areas suspicious for breast cancer. It is used concurrently with a physician's interpretation of the images. The device is not intended for use in any of the following individuals: under the age of 18, male, have metastatic cancer (Stage IV), have lobular carcinoma as their primary diagnosis, have had previous ipsilateral breast surgery for benign or malignant disease within two years (including implants and breast augmentation), patients with multi-centric disease (histologically diagnosed cancer in two different quadrants of the breast), unless resected in a single specimen, patients with bilateral disease (diagnosed cancer in both breasts), patients who are currently lactating, patients who are currently pregnant, or concurrent use in surgeries with cryo-assisted localization.
