SAN JOSE, Calif., July 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- PernixData™, the leader in flash virtualization, today announced two new additions to a highly pedigreed executive team. The company appointed Ted Stinson as vice president of sales and Jeff Aaron as vice president of marketing, two veterans of the storage and acceleration spaces respectively with extensive experience taking startup companies to leadership positions. In their new roles, Ted and Jeff will grow PernixData's presence globally, establishing the company as the de-facto standard for storage performance in virtual data centers.
"We are pleased to welcome Ted and Jeff to the PernixData team," said Poojan Kumar, co-founder and CEO of PernixData. "With their leadership, PernixData will establish itself as the clear choice for storage performance, changing the way enterprises throughout the world architect their data centers."
Ted Stinson has more than 15 years of technology industry experience, playing key roles at various storage, security and software companies. Prior to joining PernixData, he served as senior vice president of worldwide sales at Quantum, helping the company to achieve more than $450 million in branded revenue, while bringing to market innovative new archiving and data protection offerings to meet cloud, virtualization and big data requirements. Previous to Quantum, Stinson spent seven years at Symantec and VERITAS, most recently as vice president, Advanced Technology Sales for the Americas, where he led sales for the company's high growth security and storage products.
Jeff Aaron joins PernixData with over 19 years of enterprise experience and a proven track record marketing networking, storage and acceleration solutions. As vice president of marketing, Aaron will be responsible for worldwide marketing, messaging and branding, as well as go-to-market strategies for the PernixData Flash Virtualization Platform (FVP). Prior to joining PernixData, Aaron was vice president of marketing at Silver Peak, a leader in data acceleration software, and head of product marketing at Airespace, a developer of wireless networking hardware acquired by Cisco.
PernixData is re-defining how companies deploy and manage storage in virtual environments by separating storage performance from capacity. The company recently announced an over-subscribed $20 million round of Series B financing, led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB) with additional support from existing investors Lightspeed Venture Partners and industry leaders Mark Leslie, John Thompson and Lane Bess. The company is using new funding to grow global sales and marketing, continue an ambitious R&D roadmap, and accelerate the go-to-market strategy for the PernixData FVP.
