Petco to Unveil 15 New Stores in April

Pet specialty retailer will celebrate the grand opening and re-opening of 15 stores, including seven new locations, one expanded store and seven remodeled stores in April

SAN DIEGO, April 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- In keeping with its fast-paced 2016 growth plan, which includes 20 new store openings year-to-date, Petco, a leading specialty retailer of premium pet food, supplies and services, will open seven new Petco stores across the country in April. In addition to the seven new stores, the company is also expanding one location to accommodate growth in Swampscott, Mass., and remodeling seven stores in San Antonio.

Each new and remodeled store will offer pet parents and their pets dog training areas, adoption centers, grooming salons and modern Wellness Centers. The stores will continue to offer a wide selection of private label offerings as well as branded products sold only at Petco, including the exclusive Dr. Seuss and Star Wars Pet Fan Collections.

This month, seven new stores will celebrate grand openings:

Seven San Antonio stores will celebrate recent remodels with grand re-opening celebrations on April 29-May 1 and their Wellness Center Weekend on May 7-May 8:

The retail locations now offer a one-stop shopping experience where pet parents and their companions can purchase anything from pet food to toys and apparel, while also addressing the holistic health needs of pets via the grooming salon and in-store Vetco clinics in the new Wellness Centers. In addition, newly added in-store habitats for adoptable pets will enhance Petco's monthly in-store adoption events for pet parents looking to give a furry friend a forever home.

People and pets are invited to attend the grand opening festivities taking place at each store, followed by a special Wellness Center celebration the following weekend. Grand opening activities include ribbon cutting ceremonies, as well as in-store adoption events and special offers for Pals Rewards customers.
