ROSWELL, Ga., May 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- On May 17, PGA TOUR Superstore will introduce the ultimate shopping experience to golf and tennis enthusiasts in Chicagoland, with the opening of a 60,000 square-foot superstore in Schaumburg. The Schaumburg store is located at the site of the former Great Indoors store at Golf Road and Meacham Road near Woodfield Mall, the largest mall in Chicagoland.
On the heels of the Schaumburg opening, PGA TOUR Superstore's second Chicago store is on target for a June opening in Downers Grove. With these two Chicago stores, the company will boast 14 locations across the country, including three stores in metro Atlanta; two each in Dallas, Myrtle Beach and Phoenix; one in Naples, Fla.; one in Delray Beach, Fla.; and one in Denver. The stores are owned and operated by Golf & Tennis Pro Shop, Inc., whose controlling owner and chairman is Arthur M. Blank, retired Home Depot co-founder and owner of the Atlanta Falcons.
"At PGA TOUR Superstore, we pride ourselves in offering the best brands in the industry and always fitting our customers to the equipment that is right for their game," said PGA TOUR Superstore President & CEO Dick Sullivan. "We offer free club fitting and will never push our customers on a 'house brand' because we offer our customers only the top of the line, most popular brands. In addition, our associates are trained to identify the equipment that will work best for each player's swing and experience. No one in our store works on a commission so you'll never feel pressured."
PGA TOUR Superstore provides customers with some of the best brands available, including Titleist, TaylorMade, Callaway, PING, Nike, Cobra-PUMA, adidas, Cleveland, Srixon, Adams, Mizuno, FootJoy and Bridgestone. In addition, the stores carry a broad array of men's and women's golf apparel; a large selection of junior golf products; and a compelling assortment of tennis apparel, equipment and shoes, featuring Wilson, Prince, Nike, Babolat, adidas, Under Armour and more.
PGA TOUR Superstore provides a wide variety of high-quality in-store services, including personalized golf lessons and seminars by golf professionals using state-of-the-art teaching technologies; golf club and ball fittings; club repair and re-gripping; and tennis racquet restringing. The store experience also includes performance practice bays, hi-tech fitting and lesson swing simulators, a 1,600 square-foot putting green, and a full-size indoor tennis court for on-site demos and professional tennis instruction.
"Customers entering our store will find knowledgeable, professional associates eager to help," Arthur Blank noted. "Our goal is to establish relationships with our customers by providing a great shopping experience in an inviting environment, and we are happy to have the opportunity to do so in the Chicagoland area."
