Pharmacist Pharmaceutical, HPSRx and Novel Laboratories Partner to Bring Low Cost Emergency Contraception to Women's Healthcare Providers
SALEM, Va., Oct. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Pharmaceutical manufacturers Novel Laboratories Inc. and Pharmacist Pharmaceutical, LLC (PPLLC), along with women's healthcare distributor HPSRx Enterprises, Inc. have joined forces to bring affordable emergency contraception to women across the United States.
In a recently struck agreement, Novel will provide PPLLC and HPSRx with Levonorgestrel 1.5 mg Emergency Contraceptive (EC) tablet, the Plan B One-Step® generic equivalent, for distribution women-centric healthcare providers.
"Emergency contraception provides women an additional layer of protection when the unexpected happens," Bob Patane, President of PPLLC said. The Levonorgestrel 1.5 mg EC tablet is available without a prescription for those 17 years of age and older. HSPRx plans to distribute the tablet to independent clinics, family planning practices, Planned Parenthood clinics and medical practices.
