Pharmacist Pharmaceutical, HPSRx and Novel Laboratories Partner to Bring Low Cost Emergency Contraception to Women's Healthcare Providers

SALEM, Va., Oct. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Pharmaceutical manufacturers Novel Laboratories Inc. and Pharmacist Pharmaceutical, LLC (PPLLC), along with women's healthcare distributor HPSRx Enterprises, Inc. have joined forces to bring affordable emergency contraception to women across the United States.

In a recently struck agreement, Novel will provide PPLLC and HPSRx with Levonorgestrel 1.5 mg Emergency Contraceptive (EC) tablet, the Plan B One-Step^® generic equivalent, for distribution women-centric healthcare providers.

The Levonorgestrel 1.5 mg EC tablet is available without a prescription for those 17 years of age and older. HSPRx plans to distribute the tablet to independent clinics, family planning practices, Planned Parenthood clinics and medical practices.

Levonorgestrel 1.5mg is intended to prevent pregnancy after known or suspected contraceptive failure or unprotected intercourse. Take as soon as possible within 72 hours (3 days) of unprotected sex.
