Phigenics' Smart Water Leadership Summit Provides Forum for Facility Leaders and Infection Prevention Professionals to Discuss Water Management

The event gathered leaders in building water management to exchange knowledge on topics related to advancing an organization's water management program and preventing Legionnaires' Disease.
The 2017 Summit included speakers from Florida Hospital, US Green Building Council, Dallas County Department of Health and Human Services, Mayo Clinic, Novant Health, Atlanta Veterans Administration Medical Center, North Texas Municipal Water District, Children's Medical Center of Dallas and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Enterprise.

The keynote, which described the current legal landscape following the 2015 release of ASHRAE Standard 188, "Legionellosis: Risk Management for Building Water Systems" and 2016 release of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Water Management Toolkit, was delivered by Scott Furman, Esq. of the environmental law firm of Sive, Paget and Riesel P.C.
This year's Summit featured a panel composed of early adopters of water management programs, who shared their experiences of leading and actively participating on a water management team. A second panel of infection prevention professionals discussed the importance of their role within water management teams.
