GENEVA, Aug. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- SGP Technologies SA, the Switzerland-based joint venture of Silent Circle and Geeksphone behind Blackphone, today announced that Blackphone luminaries, Jon Callas and Phil Zimmermann, will be participating in a series of speaking engagements at Def Con 22 at the Rio Hotel & Casino, August 7-10, 2014 in Las Vegas, NV. Additionally, the Blackphone team will host an arcade-themed event at "From Dusk Til Con" the evening of Friday, August 8.
Phil Zimmermann, President and Co-Founder of Silent Circle, will present his session on Friday, August 8, at 12:00pm Pacific time. He will discuss his role in founding Silent Circle, the development of Blackphone and his other ongoing projects. Phil will also autograph two Blackphones to be donated by SGP Technologies to the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and Hackers for Charity for auction at the conference.
Also on Friday, August 8, Jon Callas, Blackphone Co-Founder and board member and Silent Circle Co-Founder and CTO, will participate in the panel "Ephemeral Communications: Why and How?" at 4:00pm Pacific time, where he will discuss the increasing popularity of ephemeral communications applications. He will be joined by Ryan Lackey, founder of CryptoSeal, and Elissa Shevinsky, founder of Glimpse. Phil and Jon will also be joined by Dr. Dan Ford, SGP Technologies' newly appointed CSO, and Mike Kershaw, a.k.a. Dragorn, SGP Technologies' Chief Architect.
