Phusion Projects Employees Volunteer at Greater Chicago Food Depository

CHICAGO, July 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- A local team from Phusion Projects, LLC, manufacturer of Four Loko, volunteered their day at the Greater Chicago Food Depository , gleaning produce and re-packing it to be distributed to the Food Depository's 650 partner agencies. Additionally, Phusion Projects presented the organization with a $5,000 donation.

The Greater Chicago Food Depository is a nonprofit food distribution and training center whose goal is provide food for the hungry while striving to end hunger in Chicago. The Food Depository works with a network of 650 pantries, soup kitchens and shelters to provide food to 678,000 adults and children in Cook County every year. In 2010, the Food Depository distributed 66 million pounds of nonperishable food and fresh produce, dairy products and meat to the hungry – the equivalent of 135,000 meals every day.

This is Phusion Projects' seventh food bank volunteer day and donation in 2011. The initiative will continue once a month throughout the year in select communities. Additionally, the company encourages further community involvement by offering an employee matching program for contributions made to non-profit organizations.
